CCC Publishes Postage Due Handbook

Postage Due $65.00

Postage Due — The United States Postage Due Essays, Proofs and Specimens, 1879-1986 by Harry K. Charles, Jr., PhD. Hardbound, 289pp, with a Dust Jacket.

Beginning in 1968, the Collectors Club of Chicago has committed to provide the philatelic community with publications that represent important contributions to the base of philatelic knowledge. The very first book, New York Foreign Mail Cancellations, 1870-1876, was the work of two of CCC members, Arthur van Vlissingen and Morrison Waud. Their work became the seminal work on New York foreign mail cancellations, and the first major work on the subject since Edward Milliken’s 31-page pamphlet in 1942.

Postage Due — The United States Postage Due Essays, Proofs and Specimens, 1879-1986 is the 24th handbook to be published by the Collectors Club of Chicago. This book presents the first comprehensive examination of the spectrum of United States Postage Due essays, proofs, and specimens, ranging from the first Postage Due stamps of 1879, to the final series, which were discontinued in 1986. It will stand as a companion book to George Arfken’s 1991 work, Postage Due — The United States Large Numeral Postage Due Stamps, 1879-1894, which also was published by the club.

The handbook is priced at $65. Postpaid prices are $70 within the U.S. via Media Mail; $86 for Canada and Central & South America via International Priority Mail; and $90 for all other overseas areas via International Priority Mail. Payment: in U.S. dollars with checks made out to the Collectors Club of Chicago. Orders can also be placed through the CCC website (www.collectorsclub.chicago.org) using PayPal for payment.

Orders are directed to Robert L. Glass, CCC Publications Committee, Collectors Club of Chicago, P.O. Box 3996, Oak Park, IL 60303-3996, U.S.A.
